Team Info:We are looking to build a team of multi sport athletes who will be 8 years old or younger on 4/30/2021 who want to focus on baseball during the spring and summer. This will be a transitional team to bridge the gap from parks and rec coach pitch to federation kid pitch baseball. For 2020 we plan to train with a core group of kids to prepare them for the upcoming season of 8U Federation baseball, if there is enough interest we would like to run two teams and incorporate intrasquad scrimmages into our training regimine, as well as scrimmages versus other developmental teams in the immediate area. Our baseball season will run from the end of March thru the End of July with optional training sessions before and after these time frames at various indoor and outdoor facilities throughout Oakland County. Transparent monthly accounting will be provided for all families involved, no coaches, managers, or staff of any kind will receive any type of compensation or discounts, all families will evenly split all financial responsibilities to ensure costs stay as low as possible for all participants at this early stage in the game. We will discuss the possibility of playing in one local tournament in 2020 to get a taste of the 8U division and how the games are played at that level but this will be a local team made up of like minded families who want something more than parks and rec ball but aren't quite old enough for federation ball in 2020. Anyone with any interest in helping coach please reach out, we currently have 5 dads with vast playing and coaching experience on board but at this age we'd love to have as much help as possible ensuring each and every future Rockie is getting the most individualized attention as possible in the very valuable years to their development into lifelong ball players!

Macomb Giants - Cooperstown Team 12U (2020)

City/Area:Macomb and Oakland County League:MABF
Contact:Mike Meier
586-344-6260
mmeier@venturelogistics.com
Team Info:The Macomb Giants family is proud to announce our tryouts for the 2020 Season for our 12U team. This team has had its core together for a long time with some of the boys having played together since they were 5-years old. We pride ourselves on development and playing this game the right way. We have our own training site where the core fundamentals are driven home, plus the 10 Rules we abide by: 1) Being On Time, 2) Work Ethic, 3) Effort, 4) Body Language, 5) Energy, 6) Attitude, 7) Passion, 8) Being Coachable, 9) Doing Extra, and 10) Being Prepared. These rules, along with the core fundamentals of baseball, helps to make our team competitive. We have won many tournaments along the way and are working toward back-to-back MABF division titles with this philosophy. Our families are great, and we work together to encourage our boys and build them up. Our hitting coach, who works with us all off-season and some in the summer, is Scott Lusader. Scott played in the Major Leagues with the Tigers and Yankees and is passionate about the game; he is teaching these young boys the tools/keys to hitting. He is also very hands on and positive. Scott can speak to you directly about our organization and our coaching staff (he will also attend the tryouts). Chris Ogden is our pitching coach. Chris played at the college level in addition to coaching at the college level. Chris's focus is on the core of pitching (just like Scott's focus is on the core of hitting). We will also be bringing in a Catcher trainer and a baseball counselor on how to deal with the difficulties of this tough game (failing 70% in hitting is a success). Our 12U group will be attending Cooperstown for our week-long tournament this year. We will also travel in the Midwest for a long weekend tournament, in addition to other local tournaments (total of five outdoors/spring/summer). We will do in-door tournaments starting in December, then one each month through March. In April we will move to out-door tournaments, along with May, June, and July (we do not schedule games or tournaments around July 4th as we keep that as a family time). We anticipate we'll be competing in the MABF Upper A Division. For 2020 we are looking to add a few great athletes/baseball players to our group. Our team is very versatile; we have each player focus on 2-3 positions and all players participate in pitching training (we feel this is very important at this age as these boys are still developing and growing). Practice will startup in late-October/November with a few practices to keep the boys together. After our December tournament, we will shut down over Christmas and New Year's. In January we will then practice two times per week. One day is our pitching training with our trainer, the other day is with our hitting trainer. One hour each on these specifics, the other hour is our standard practice on core fundamentals. All our practices have a set agenda; we pride ourselves as coaches on organization as this the gets passed on to the players. We have a team Manager and Team Mom; these two ensure our organization is very organized with a structured communication system. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call our Head Coach, Mike Meier: (586) 344-6260 email mmeier@venturelogistics.com or our Team Manager, Casey Pogodzinski: (586) 484-2663 email cpogo07@gmail.com Go Giants!

We have never cut a player, but have improved each year through hard-work, dedication and loyalty to each other. All our players and families have always been accepting of any new players/families. We have our own certified trainer and will be working with the past Michigan High School State Championship coach, Joe Emanuele and his staff, 2 days a week starting December/January.
