City/Area:Walled Lake, Huron Valley, Novi School District League:KVBSA Advanced
Contact:Rick Rachner
2485087575
rickrachner@ameritech.net
Team Info:12U SPECIFICS:Head Coach: Rick RachnerThis will be Rick's third year as Head Coach in the Cannons Organization. Rick has coached over 40+ teams (baseball, softball, basketball, and football) over the past 10 years. Rick is currently in his final year coaching two travel teams (11U baseball and 14U softball). At the conclusion of this season he will be down to coaching just one travel team (12U Baseball).Rick has maintained a consistence coaching staff for the past three years which brings great balance and perspective to this team. The coaches work hard to improve each players experience and to make solid decision to ensure the team plays at a high level. Our philosophy is pretty straight forward. We want each player to love the game of baseball and to improve on a yearly basis. We want to have a culture built around the players that engages their families and friends. We spend a lot of time together and it is critical that we have an environment where everyone involved has a great experience. While winning is very important the experience, approach, and overall culture are critical elements that sets us apart.A Little History! Coming out of Little League it was determined by the coaching staff to put together a three year transition plan from House Ball to top level travel ball. • The 10U team (2016-2017) played in the KVBSA Advanced Division. This was a huge step as most teams coming out of House Ball play at the Community Level in their first year of travel. The goal was to stretch the players and coaches to learn the game at a quicker pace knowing that we were up against more experienced teams. While our KVBSA record was not that great, our team had a great tournament record and won two tournament championships. This initial travel season set the foundation for our team and our approach moving forward.• The 11U team (2017-2018) played in KVBSA Advanced Division as well and posted a winning record this past season. The experience that we garnered during the 10U season paid off as the game slowed down for all of the players. It was great to see the hard work from 2016-2017 pay off in 2017-2018. In addition, the team played in 8 tournaments this past season and made it to the Semi Finals or Finals in each and every tournament. Playing in four championship game this past year and winning two of those four games were season highlights. We doubled the number of wins from our previous season winning 34 games this past year. We just got back from Elizabethtown Kentucky where we made the National Semi Finals, an experience the kids will remember for years to come.• The 12U team (2018-2019) will be comprised of many returning players and a few new ones that will enjoy a wonderful experience that will be highlighted by a trip to Cooperstown (the granddaddy of them all). We will continue to play in the KVBSA Advanced Division. We will play a full tournament schedule, however this schedule will be dictated by the week we go to Cooperstown (so details will not be release until late fall). What does the future hold? If the boys want to continue playing after the 12U season we would love to run this program through their high school years. If we keep winning I assume that all the players will want to continue to play. I am always open for a conversation and look forward to hearing from anyone interested in Cannon baseball.Coach Rick 248.508.7575rickrachner@ameritech.net

Both teams are expected to compete at a very high level and opportunities for crossing over will be encouraged and offered as needed. Players need to be dedicated, attending practices and the games. Our focus is 100% on getting your child ready for high school baseball and not charging a small fortune to play a game where learning and growing should be the focus for 13-14 year olds. Cost for our League Team is $1300 and the Tournament Team $1800. Both our teams are led by coaches who also happen to be dads. All players on this team earn their spots in the field and the batting order and preferential treatment is not tolerated. Please visit www.troygreenmachinebaseball.com for more information.
